We recently organised a 1950’s Birthday Party at the Deans Place Hotel, Alfriston which was a great success.
Attention to detail was the order of the day! Pristine navy blue napkins and runners set on the white tablecloths, with record centre pieces and navy, royal blue & black coloured balloons on alternating coloured strings floating above each table. Retro sweets bagged and tied with string at each place setting for each guest and a retro display table including 50’s games, books, telephone, camera added to the overall 50’s flavour of the event. Some 1950’s ‘ad posters and record sleeves dressed the walls and a banner prepared especially for the occasion with images of events in the 1950’s all helped the look and the design.
The entertainment was 1950’s music played by the DJ for part of the event, a dance routine to ‘Singing in the Rain’ and the wonderful cabaret singers The Rockabellas all slotted into the evening with a picture show of the life and times of the birthday person during the pre dinner drinks a bonus!
The food and service at Deans was excellent and added to the relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all the guests.
